Escape to Your Cabin in the Woods
Our simple, wood-heated cabins are on the edge of central campus, footsteps away from trails that snake through our 230 acres of woods and meadows. Similar to cabins you might find in Yosemite or California State Parks, or at an old-fashioned family camp, our cabins are rustic and cozy.
Sadly, we lost several Cabins in the recent Jones Fire. We are working to rebuild them. Meanwhile we still have A-Frames to rent and we welcome all visitors!
Our A-Frame Cabins are on the East Side of campus, steps away from the Stone House. Each A-Frame can accommodate two people in twin beds on either side of the central wood stove. Each A-frame has two small desks with chairs and shelves built into the slanted walls. These are popular for private retreats for individuals or couples, seeking a quiet, woodsy break from the busy world. Cabins have a shared bathhouse a few steps away.
For individuals and families: A-frames can be rented for personal and family retreats though HipCamp.
For Retreats and other group rentals: We have twelve A-Frames, for a total of 24 beds. A-frames can be rented individually or as one unit, depending on the size and needs of your group.
These cabins were once dorms for students of John Woolman School and the Woolman Semester School. Today they are enjoyed by folks who are looking for an escape from the city to a quite place in the woods, and as a base camp for Sierra recreation.
