Emma's Revolution Benefit Concert

Event Type:
Date & Time:
November 7, 2013 - 7:30pm

Pat Humphries and Sandy O of Emma's Revolution are returning to Woolman this November as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the John Woolman School and the 10th anniversary of the Woolman Semester. They will be talking with our students about their activism around the country and will be performing a benefit concert for Woolman at Unity in the Gold Country in Grass Valley on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Pat and Sandy have performed many times for our community. In 2005, moved by the spirit of our students and staff, they wrote their song I Will Stand and sung it at our fall commencement ceremony. They travel the country, singing their own songs and raising issues of peace, social and environmental justice, and women’s and LGBTQ rights. The topics of their songs range from sweatshop labor to immigrants’ rights, from ice melting on Mt. Kilimanjaro as a result of climate change to the Occupy Movement, and from the horrors of war to the love of family.
