August 18, 2012 (All day) - December 15, 2012 (All day)
Event Type:
Woolman Semester
The Wolman Semester is a dynamic and innovative program designed for high school juniors, seniors and post graduates who wish to make an impact on the world. For one semester we welcome you to be a part of a unique living and learning experience created expressly to foster the discovery of your own vision and purpose, and to support you in the pursuit of it.
Who Should Apply?
The Woolman Semester seeks applicants with a keen interest in peace, social justice, and sustainable living. Students do not need to come to Woolman with prior knowledge in these areas, though many of our students do. Instead, all students must demonstrate an excitement and eagerness to deeply engage with these topics through rigorous academics, self-designed projects, and experiential service-learning trips.
Acceptance is granted based on academic achievement, demonstrated engagement in school and home communities, personal essays, teacher recommendations, and the student's desire to participate in a challenging academic and nature-based program in rural California.
When are applications due?
Applications for the fall semester are due by April 30 and September 30 for the spring semester. After these dates, we will accept applications on a rolling admissions basis if there are spaces available.
If you would like to learn more please contact the Admissions Office at (530) 273-3183 ext. 14 or via email at admissions@woolman.org
